Today I'm going to try to get some work done at my apartment, and I hope it will help that this is a particularly long weekend (because of Wednesday). Then about 10:00 I started getting gloomy - and it's purely about 'wintry mix' and its possibilities.
Sometimes 'wintry mix' isn't bad, as it means a bit of pebbly sleet thrown in, which adds some texture (and traction) to ice that's already been laid down. Other times it's so wide open that it's scary. And we're going to get periods of snow and drizzle the rest of the weekend. Maybe six more inches in all. Sigh.
It makes me think about how much milk I have - enough, I think. If I don't, there's always the Very Expensive Yogurt at DBs. (It's ordinary yogurt, but much cheaper at a store than a coffeehouse.)
Intersections are bad, with lots of snow scraped down and hardened into thick patches of cie.
Yesterday oldest brother and I went to
ordenchaz's place for a scaled-down Thanksgiving dinner. 2:30! That's about an hour and a half later than usual. :-) I brought along my meal, which was a turkey-dressing-potatoes dinner anyway, but also had some baked beans and pie. It was a good time.
So I'll probably leave soon and try to get some paper-shuffling/filing work done before and after lunch. I'll go to DBs around 2:00 to do Duolingo, maybe some email, update podcasts and check new YouTube videos, maybe some ancestry, who knows?
