Today we had a 'no-rehearsal pageant' (anyone could join) and plenty of Christmas hymns. Even without a hymnal I knew all the alto parts! I wore my celebratory sweater (crimson). I spent some time at ordenchaz's place, addressing Christmas card envelopes on her dining room table. Now I need to write a holiday letter for the first time in two years! (It should be easier than before, as I don't have to write it in random moments at work, and I have clear ideas about the first paragraph - like, why no letter the past two years? A quiet Independence Day - but that isn't surprising. Normally in the evening I would hear fireworks go off over -- the former Lake C. When I was growing up we'd go to the town park, and the American Legion would set off fireworks.
