Yesterday I decorated my living room, as planned. First I set out things on my piano, then I decorated my two little trees, and finally I set up the creche.
For some years I collected Christmas tree decorations -- the Bibelot shop was a constant temptation. I had many decorations for the tree I inherited from my mom, but needed to fill up the other one (the rather Charlie Brown tree).
Recently I found a couple of things to set on my piano that I had forgotten - or never knew I had.
One I had forgotten about, and found again a couple of years ago, is a lovely ceramic angel that my father's mother made at the "Mud Hut" (I wonder who ran that?). It has her initials on the bottom. (wibble!) It's classy, smooth.
Yesterday I decided I needed to put something else on my piano, so I looked in the cabinet above my refrigerator.
In the top left corner of the cabinet I saw a little white something, looked like a snowman perhaps. I took it down. I don't know that I had ever seen it. It is a darling little snow woman wearing a bonnet. It's sort of bell-shaped and has a glass clapper that softly tinkles if you shake her. Kawaii! Just darling. And my mom taped a note to the side, saying it was from her mother's house.
Now I need to take photos of both of these and post them here!
