This was the best episode ever (other than the one where Betty shoots the damn pigeons)! You've sold Me, Matthew Weiner!
For reals?! Must see TV.
I'm gutted about Joan. *sadface*
Have you seen War Horse? I haven't. I feel a little guilty about not seeing it though. Probably because Spielberg made it. I felt guilty about not seeing the Martin Scorsese kids film that wasn't for kids also. It was SO difficult to get through the first 30 minutes of that film. By the end I wished I were watching a film by Georges Méliès instead of one about him. Hugo is a love letter to Georges Méliès.
Oh my this Edith Piaf link is divine!
Don/Dick goes home early from the office with the Swine and Avian Flu. He sleeps with and murders some chick he slept with years before. I'll let you figure out who is the Swine and who is the Avian. None of this bothers Megan who has decided to let dead girlfriends of Don/Dick rot under the marriage bed.
Oh my I have so much TV to catch up on. Enjoyed the write up! <3
This was a good episode. Very Femme orientated. And Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce got their first "Negro" employee other than the janitor. They have a secretary named Dawn. She looks like Lt. Uhura from Star Trek.
Don't be sorry for Joan, she dumped the Dead Wood.
I've seen one of those 10 minute previews of War Horse on demand TV. I'll see the whole movie next week. It has a horse with a mane---what more could any girl want to see?
I do want to see Hugo, I've done some research on that period of film. Did you see the whole movie or just 30 minutes of it? Love Méliès' Trip to the Moon, it is so Vaudeville.
You should see Hugo. Then you can tell me what's wrong with the first 30 minutes. I did watch the whole film and it redeemed itself. After the first 30 minutes it became a full blown love letter to Méliès and an elaborate commercial for his films and film preservation in general. They should have marketed it as a love letter to Méliès instead of as a kid's film. It's not a children's film.
