Love the comparison to metropolis. That's one of my fave films and I was amazed that such a film could have been made before all the high tech special effects wizardry we have now.
They found a 16mm print in Argentina recently and the movie has been pretty much restored to its original cut (they might still be missing about 6 minutes). I'm not sure if the most recent cut is on DVD yet, but we must see it sometime.
And yes, Isabella Blow! She's wearing the Orange Bubble hat in my comment icon.
She makes Anna Wintour seem so conventional and tame. But Andre Leon Talley makes up for it. Thank Goodness for him.
