The Basically Comprehensive List In Answer To Izzy and Karin's

Mar 29, 2008 02:28

Since the fair Irish Princess, among others, have been asking if one would be done, what could Monty and I do but to acquiesce? I would like to state for the record that none of this is meant insultingly. All love can be sent towards Montgomery Flint and Cadoc Phillips. Marriage proposals and death threats can be directed towards yours truly only ( Read more... )

SECOND PLACE MERLIN'S TROUSERS - this is very embarrassing yet flattering at the same time - oh Godric -

You two were much nicer than Karin and I were. It makes me feel a wee bit guilty. But thank you for all the lovely things said my way! See Amity, it pays to be nice. It's just as well you can't see me - I'm the colour of my house's Quidditch robes right now! But yay - second place!

Why in the world would you have any reason to feel guilty, princess? It's just a matter of expressing my opinion, and noting down Monty's opinion as well. I would like to think that it is genuine on both our parts, and on yours, very well deserved.

And do forgive me for contradicting you, but I'm sure you look very fetching in that colour.

Well, thank you for that. It's very flattering considering that I have some very pretty classmates who aren't bad people either.

Red is my favourite colour. It won't quite lead to communism though, which is what Jasper may be hoping.

You are very welcome. It would be very petty and simplistic if we did this ONLY based on appearance, wouldn't it? I don't think I personally could date a girl who is unappealing in temperament regardless of how she looked. Not to mention, we Ravenclaws have some sort of reputation (ill-deserved or not) of being thinkers, so we must endeavour to maintain that.

You look very pretty in it too.

I based my list off appearance and personality too. I think Karin went more for looks, unless she really didn't like the bloke. I couldn't date someone who didn't have a very good personality no matter what he looked like either. Nick and I were arguing about this earlier, but someone's personality does affect what I think of his looks.

Thank you. My mum says that as well. If we ever have an occasion to get dressed up here, I will have to buy a dress that colour.

Well, as I see it, you really can't-- and shouldn't-- date someone who doesn't treat you well or like you for other things than how you look. There's more to a person than that, and if I only like one aspect of a person, chances are that it's not exactly a relationship destined for much success, therefore why bother?

You're quite welcome. We'll just have to make you blush some more in the interim, princess.

What if the person did like you for things other than how you looked, but still seemed to dislike even more things? If you obviously only fancy someone for their looks, then it's not worth bothering with at all, unless you're a very superficial person.

I am bright red right now. Mum must be wondering what exactly I'm reading in this.

I agree. It just doesn't make much sense to go with a person whom you can't get along with or aren't respected by. Physical attraction can only go so far.

Aww. I would say that there's really nothing to be blushing over, but as you probably look very cute, I shall not do anything to dissuade you.

I think often when you see people in relationships like that it looks very simple from the outside. But it might not necessarily be that straightforward.

You're not helping. I don't want to know what Mum must be thinking.
