Dear X-MEN: FIRST CLASS;

Dear X-MEN: FIRST CLASS,

let me start off by saying how incredibly sorry I am that it took me this fucking long to finally watch you. I don't know what I was thinking. Perhaps, after the fiasco that was X3, I was afraid I'd be disappointed. I wasn't, not even close.

Raven, love, you had me at "you're not afraid of me?", all on your side. Then I fell in love, again, with you staring at yourself in the mirror, brushing your teeth, going mutant and proud and you made me think of Rogue. I think I fell in love with you, deeper and deeper, with every quote you said because whenever you speak, you speak the truth.

(Kevin Bacon. Thank you, thank you so much, for ever being born ["we're going to have so much fun together"]. I cannot express my graditute enough, don't have the words, and neither can my little sister. I just wonder... what is it with you and these evil son of a bitch roles? Would it kill you, for once, to be sane and nice? Not that I mind. You're like Travolta, a bitching bad-ass and get to me, every time.

Michael Fassbender, I've loved you ever since Hex and I'm happy to notice you're still hot in all the right ways. Thank you for making Magneto sexy the way misunderstood evil, such as Pyro, deserves to be.

James McAvoy, there's just something about you. Then again, it could be my drool, it's still wet 'cause I just rewatched Wanted a few weeks ago, so.)
Emma Frost? X-Men: First Class, did you just, seriously, introduce me to THE EMMA FROST I HAD IN MY UNVEILED SERIES? DID YOU, SERIOUSLY? OHMIGOD, *swoon* - I'm pretty sure you own me now, I'm your slave till the day I breathe no more. This is just amazing.

Erik, the bar scene ["Let's just say I'm a Frankenstein's monster"], the coldness in your eyes, the style and the grace, it's like you're a fallen angel all over again and I'm yours. This is how I always imagined grown-up Pyro to act; this is how you would have trained him to be, had they not fucked X3 up the way they did. What I love the most is that you can't even die because I know, for a fact, you're alive in X3 which makes this so much better. Usually my favorites are killed off the minute I fall in love.

Charles Xavier, holy shit, you're a flirt?! Who would've thought? *grin* I love you, your voice and your accent and the whole character that is you. It's kind of funny, though, that in the first three movies I never gave crap about you or Magneto and, well, here I am, loving you both almost equally, wtf?

Sebastian Shaw, your power intrigues me. It's fascinating, what you can do with it.

(Nicholas Hoult, the first time I saw you in About A Boy, I just knew you'd always stay with me. I loved Skins but really, this is like a dream come true. You're in a X-Men movie! How freakin' awesome is that?!)
I must say, I've never been into slash, which is why the fandom that is Supernatural sometimes bugs me (because apparently, everyone else in the world is which makes finding fics to read pretty damn difficult), but with you, dear X-Men: First Class, I totally get it. Or am starting to get it, anyways. There's something very electric about Erik and Charles whenever they're on the screen together, something very unique in their relationship though it could be just McAvoy and Fassbender and their abilities to act. I don't know. Still.

As for how you show us Erik ["I'm not CIA."], it's quite possible I died and went to heaven. Air, where are you, I need to breathe! This is the kind of Pyro Magneto that appeals to me, oh yeah. I can also totally see why Magneto saw through Pyro so easily in the second movie.

Havok, Angel, Banshee & Hank, writing you could be *so* much fun ["I expect more from you"]. You're the Scooby Gang to my Buffy Summers and way better than Kitty, Bobby (minus Rogue and Pyro, naturally) and the others could have ever been. Havok reminds me of someone, I just can't get that actor to my head... makes me think of Higher Ground's Scott, for one.

Darwin, I will grieve for you. Didn't much feel for you, given how little we saw of you, but I love what you and Havok tried doing for Angel (even though she's the only character I don't really click with - I demand some loyalty, I guess, but I get it, you were just filling the back-stabbing bitch allotment. I mean, seriously, she could've at least felt a little bad for trying to kill the guys that, for a little while, were her friends. Some hesitation would have been good, you know. Just a thought. On the other hand, this gives me great fic ideas, so not like I can complain, a lot.). Anyway, Darwin, what you did, that was pretty brilliant.

As for the other guys, as said, writing them could be fun. I love their friendship/s and relationships and I think you, as movie, managed to portray them just fine.

Banshee: "I trust you."
Charles: "I'm touched."
*Banshee pointing at Hank* "I don't trust him."
Professor Charles Xavier to Hank: Say nothing.
*charming_syrai chuckles* because she's always been a sucker for this kind of "training" movies.
I suppose the line ["You're beautiful, Hank. Everything you are, you're perfect"] defines Mystique through and through. This is what her endgame always was; it wasn't about revenge, or hate, or loathing the "lesser" beings. It was always, from the beginning to the bitter end, about not having to hide, to be accepted the way she is. I suppose this is what I love about Mystique and it also makes sense why she'd adopt Rogue in the comics. Just like Magneto sees, or could see, himself in Pyro, I suppose Mystique could very well relate to Rogue's situation, right?

What does strike me odd, though, is that considering how willing Mystique was to act against Charles in the other movies, why did she love the man this much (despite her growing affection towards Hank, it's quite obvious she truly loves Charles because he's her family...)? Or rather, how could she go up against him like that in the other movie/s if she'd once loved him like that? Or is that exactly why? Because he never loved her blue form the way she needed someone to love her.

I want you to know I appreciate all the wisdom and the great insights you offer us. One of my personal favorites would have to be the bedroom scene which is ["I prefer the real Raven."] such a huge Erik/Raven slash Pyro/Rogue SQUEE-MOMENT for me that you would not believe. This is what I'm talking about.

Brendan Fehr, I SO SAW YOU. MWUAHAHAHAH! I've been meaning to send you a long love letter concerning your role as Michael in Roswell, btw. Just saying.
I don't remember the other movies ever explaining us how Charles lost his ability to walk and I guess, since the first seconds to the movie, I was wondering if you were finally going to tell us. I love the way you did it, I love the way it happened, I love Erik's attempt to make it better, his anger towards Moira and the fact he forgot all about the missiles the moment he realized Charles is hurt.

When I was many years younger, before I'd even seen any of the X-Men movies (only one had been released) or read the comics, my friend gave me a prompt. She told me the names of a few characters, told me what they can do and what they're like and she asked me to write a fic, which I suppose was my first fan fic ever. It never got published, though I did get a few chapters written. What's funny is that even though I'd never seen the first movie, I wrote about Mystique being at Charles' side. She'd been evil, for a little while and then come back to him. Now I see it totally could have been.

Thank you, dear X-Men: First Class, for righting (almost) everything that was wrong in X3, thank you for making the important characters the actual eye candy (Yes, though I love Foster, I still have issues with X3's take on Angel mainly because his whole character was pointless and offered nothing to the plot.) and making those characters unique and lovable and flawed. I love you for that.

And most of all, I really love you for all the wonderful shipping possibilities you've just given me, both canon and fanon; Charles/Raven, Charles/Moira, Erik/Raven, Erik/Emma, Erik/anyone, Sebastian/Emma, Hank/Raven & all the others of which some are better than the rest.

Yours truly, charming_syrai
