Twosday going and coming
Tell us about a time you left and a time you came back.
Thought I was going to talk about the slums again? No, I'll tell you about the time I left Montparnasse. I left him for college, believe it or not. Of course I was the one going, he was not. I simply told him one night not to give me a lift to where my family had just moved (again) and that I was making it home on my own.
"You can't manage it on your own, Ponine," he told me as I handed him back his keys.
"I can....and the next years without you. I never liked your motorcycle anyway," I told him.
As for coming back....well coming back to the Musain? I don't know why I keep going back there anyway, since the girl-I-ought-to-hate hangs out there (she's the daughter of the owners), and the guys who are also there every night are likely to get me in trouble one of these days. But I remember one day though.
Enjolras was alone, drinking his coffee, when I got in. "Can I help you?" he asked me.
"That's Madame Fantine's line, not yours," I said.
"It can mean many other things," he replied.
"You never expected me to come back here, huh?"
"Something to that effect."
Well it wasn't because of him, exactly, but he at least made the top 5 of my 'whys' list. "I need the free coffee," I said as I sat across from him. "And the airconditioning."
He shrugged. "Not what I wanted to hear, but it's a start."
