School days question

Jan 30, 2011 14:55

One of my classes this year includes practice teaching in which we have to prepare some lesson plans and then go out and practice them in an actual classroom setting with actual students. We have to prepare an elementary, a middle school, and a high school lesson plan. My area of choice for these lessons is music history (jazz age). So I've got the topic down. The problem is what kind of lessons kids that age respond to? I've had other education classes before and we've done a lot of reading sure, but... these will be actual kids. And I more or less taught myself was homeschooled so I don't know too much about classroom settings. My question is to you, who have been to school, who are in school, or who have kids of your own...

What lessons have you learned in school that have stuck with you?
