[Munday] PBs
1. Who is your character's PB? Christian Cage/Jason Reso
2. Which came first, the character or the PB? Neither. It was the concept of this character's father who is written by a friend that came first. After he had been in play for a little while I saw Christian and thought "Hey! He looks kinda wolflike" ('cause Daddy is a werewolf, imagine that!) and used him as a pb to work the son's story in with the father's.
3. Why did you choose this particular PB? Er, I just kinda said that one.
4. How close is the PB to your character? What are the differences, if any? Lookswise they are pretty much the same, except that Christian has a tattoo of a bulldog on his shoulder and Jeff doesn't. That would be really out of place. Also in terms of speech Christian is Canadian and says stuff like "aboot". Jeff has a midwestern American accent.
5. Have you modified the PB in any way to be more like your character? Other than the lack of ink and addition of wolf icons, no.
6. Have you ever changed your character's PB / would you ever? Why, or why not? I haven't and I really don't want to. I think Christian's face is really interesting and I work at finding pbs that are rarely used. If anyone else uses him I'd be pretty ticked off.
7. Where did you find icons of your PB, or did you make them yourself? Most of mine are from a fansite, though there are a few from icon comms.
8. Is it important to have an appropriate PB for your character? Why or why not? I thought this kinda went without saying. Definitely yes. The pb has to fit the character's age, background, culture, and lifestyle. High schoolers played by thirtysomethings aren't very believable.
9. Have you ever been favorably/unfavorably predisposed towards a character because you liked or didn't like the PB choice? Yes, if the character doesn't seem to fit or if it's one of the really overused pbs - Kristen Bell, the Supernatural guys, Ian Somerhalder, Sophia Bush, Gerard Butler, Keira Knightly, Milo Ventimiglia, that Tokio Hotel kid with the crazy hair. It doesn't really bother me if they are canon characters or the muse has been around for a good while, but if they're starting with a clean slate I think there are other choices out there.
10. Have you ever had a character who was represented by text icons / no icon only because they were too difficult to find a PB for? Nope. When I pick hard to find pbs I make sure I have icons for them first.
