"Les Mis" -- AMAZING!!!
Marilyn and I just got back from seeing the film "Les Mis" -- and there aren't even words for how GOOD it is!!! (Here's a REVIEW from USA Today...)
Yes, Hugh Jackman was incredible (as I think everyone would expect). But Anne Hathaway took my breath away. I was sobbing more than once during her performance -- just heart-breaking work. If she doesn't get the the Academy Award there's no justice at all!!! She's the one who did the best work, in my opinion.
And Marilyn told me Russell Crowe is being slammed -- but I thought he was wonderful and did an outstanding job. Samantha Barks as Eponine was another standout for me.
But, frankly, there were so MANY great performances that it's hard not to just include a full cast list when talking about this movie. Seriously.
I'm so VERY GLAD we went to see this movie today, for Christmas! What a perfect choice! It really is about hope and love to me -- and the power of love. I feel drained from all the emotion. I'd swear there wasn't a dry eye in the house -- and there were a ton of people there to see it...
Obviously I recommend you see it -- that pretty much goes without saying!
