Marilyn
mistressmarilyn and I drove up the
Columbia River Gorge today. It was one of the most beautiful drives ever -- and frankly, it's almost always a beautiful drive!
We drove the direction of the
Hood River Museum, but didn't go there. (We've been before, however, and it's a wonderful museum!) But we drove behind it and went down on the beach! We took off our shoes (flip flops for Marilyn, sandals for me) and carried them, walking barefoot in the warm river sand. Just delightful!
And all the way up the Gorge and back, we listened to our religious mix on our iPod, plus a bunch of
Michael W. Smith songs (two of my favorties are "Breathe" and "Above All" from his album "Worship"). It's impossible not to feel connected to Jesus when you're viewing the nature's amazing wonders and listening to moving music.
We had very little to eat much of the day, snacking on some bread, cheese, banana and apples. Then later I made spaghetti (now we'll have leftovers!) for a late dinner.
We both have a busy week facing us. And next weekend is the Blessing of the Festival.
I'd love to find time to have a manicure and pedicure -- and tan -- before then. But somehow I can't see us working that in! There are a bunch of evening things this week, too, so... Thankfully I get my hair cut on Wednesday -- and will hopefully get it colored this week, too!
Anyway, I need to get back to work -- and we plan to go to bed EARLY tonight (we didn't get much sleep last night). So time to end for now.
