Today we went to Robert's Rose Planting (each year the festival President has a rose planted at his home) -- and the weather couldn't have been more lovely for this event!
After that we went to
Oregon City to the
McLoughlin House for the book launch of "
A Heart for Any Fate - Westward to Oregon 1845," a young adult historical fiction novel about the Oregon Trail. (Yes, Marilyn
mistressmarilyn bought me a copy that I had author Linda Crew sign and can't wait to read!)
The book launch was actually held in
Barclay House, where all tours of the McLoughlin House begin. They have their offices there and a nice little gift shop, as well.
After that, Marilyn and I drove up to the
Mountain View Cemetery and looked at several headstones.
I have many photos to share at some point, but I haven't downloaded any, as yet.
The food at Robert's was wonderful -- and the iced tea was fabulous. That's all we had to eat today, but that's okay.
I think we're going to head to bed soon. It's been a hard week and we're worn out. We're hoping to take a drive or something tomorrow.
We didn't quite make it to MusicFest, but I guess that's okay.
On Friday we got "
Mary, Mother of Jesus," the TV movie featuring Christian Bale as Jesus. He's amazing in this role. We've watched it more than once now and I've been reading "The Life of Christ" and my King James Bible. I think it's wonderful when a movie can create such strong feelings...
Well, I guess it's time for bed!
