Training Allison (Alli) -- PLUS A Sunny Day!
Today was a lovely, WARM, sunny day! Just what we all needed. And perfect for the photo shoot that took place in the afternoon...
Marilyn and I got to work around 9:00, and took a large group of people to Starbucks for coffee, including new Staff person Allison -- who prefers to be known as Alli. She's only lived in Oregon for a few months, so she's excited to get to know Portland better. Dick was the one who recommended her to us. She's going to be Carol's seasonal assistant for 2016.
She's actually brilliant! She has her Masters and is going for her PhD (Doctorate). We were very much on the same page about many things, I have to say. Oh! And she's left-handed, just like me. Training went longer than usual -- but that's often the case with people who have a lot of questions about things (like both Katie and Jessica from last year). And I didn't have any other appointments today, so I really didn't mind!
Marilyn hung in there really well today. Most people had NO CLUE that she wasn't feeling well! And I managed NOT to lose my voice, so I was really pleased!
We got home around 7:00-ish. And watched "The Middle" and "Jeopardy" (tonight's!) while eating dinner. We're both now ready for a nap, so I'm blogging early so I can read a little before drifting off...
Sister Sue was supposed to be getting her CPAP machine today -- but I didn't get to talk to her, so I don't know how it went. They were actually bringing it out to her! I hope that goes well and helps Sue.
We had refried beans WITH TACO SHELLS for dinner (I didn't have any), plus green beans (I ate a TON of those -- I'm hung up on them!). Today is Fat Tuesday, so we also had some cake that Arthur brought in (very low amount of sugar). Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday -- the start of Lent.
I wasn't very hungry today. I got an oatmeal bar at Starbucks this morning and never ate it. And I barely ate anything at lunch, or dinner. I'm just going with it. I've lost some weight recently, so I feel like I shouldn't force myself to eat when I'm not really hungry...
