Sick of RAIN! Plus: Didn't Go to the Beach...
Marilyn and I had been planning since the first of the year to go to the beach house this weekend, meaning would wanted to leave today. But that just didn't happen.
First off, we slept in really, REALLY late. I didn't get out of bed until past noon! We were both really tired out -- not just physically, but emotionally and mentally, too. The weekend is a lovely time to recharge, when you can...
I don't know. We kept thinking it over. And then it was so late we'd have been driving part of the way in the dark, which we really don't like. So.
We should have forced ourselves to go shopping today at some point. But that didn't happen, either. I'd say we just didn't feel like doing much of anything, really.
Anyway, Marilyn and I watched a bunch of TV today (surprise!). We saw a fascinating documentary on HBO called Heroin: Cape Cod, USA. New England has a serious problem with heroin use, as surprising as that sounds. The sad part is that heroin addicts don't appear to be able to get clean. I think they only showed one person who got clean and might remain that way. One. And heroin addicts will basically do anything for a fix. And I do mean anything. Disgusting, as well as sad.
We got the 2014 movie "The Water Diviner" On Demand -- with Russell Crowe. It focused Australian Joshua Connor, who lost all three of his sons during World War I in the Battle of Gallipoli (in Turkey). His wife has been driven mad by the loss and kills herself (honestly, that happens immediately, so it's not really a spoiler) -- but he decides she wants her boys brought home. So he goes to Turkey to find their bodies. It was really WONDERFUL!!! We both loved it. I highly recommend it if you're looking for an interesting movie to watch.
Our cats are missing their tree. I'm sure they'll be over it in a few more days. But they're both VERY NEEDY right now...
We're in our office now. Marilyn's playing Zuma and we're watching SNL. They're doing a Star Wars routine that's really FUNNY!!! Hahaha. Love it!
Well, there's really nothing else to report today. We're sick of the constant RAIN -- and we're expecting a TON more. (sigh)
My friend June and I were texting on our iPads for a bit. I wanted to see her this week, but it just didn't happen. I miss her!
I spoke briefly to sister Sue who was at a cribbage tournament. I forgot that she told me that both her computer and Candy's are OUT right now. I wonder why??? (I'm glad Donn is home soon! I need to get him to look at them for me...)
I've got a killer headache. No clue why, but it's driving me nuts. And I bit my tongue the other day, and that's bothering me, too. Seriously??? (sigh)
