Animania is an annual festival, which brings together thousands of young and
eager people from local, interstate and overseas, to immerse themselves in the
popular culture that surrounds Anime and the Japanese Culture.

Animania began in 2002 as the first Japanese animation festival ever to be held
in NSW. At its inauguration, the event was attended by more than 500 people.

In 2005, Animania set its foot on Brisbane and in 2006, Animania will have its
inaugural event in Melbourne. The festival is designed to create an environment
for the general public to come face to face with Japanese pop-culture in an
exciting and vibrant atmosphere.

In addition it will also:

* showcase up & coming artists
* give rise to opportunities to be introduced to anime clubs, businesses and artnerships
* stage family-friendly shows such as humorous debates and colourful costume play run a
variety of competitions through trivia and drawings

Animania is Australia’s Leading Japanese & Asian Animation, Manga, Games and Popular
Culture Event. Background & History

Animania reaches a milestone in 2006. This will be the 5th year that Animania has been
organised. To celebrate the occasion, Aurora Entertainment (AE) will stage 5 events
across the 3 major cities (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne) on the East Coast of Australia.
