Here and there
It's really worrying what's going on in Egypt. It looked liked it might go a peaceful way there for a while, until all of a sudden this violent eruption of attacks and battles. I'd say it's a sign that Mubarak is losing his grip. It seems unclear whether the army & the police supports him, at any rate, so he has to - or so it appears - pay people to attack the demonstrators. It's also really, really bad when reporters are being attacked. A Swedish, very experienced, rather well-known, reporter on site, was brutally beaten and knifed yesterday. He's alive but in critical condition. It's really bad. Here's hoping it'll turn around soon. These people really want and deserve a democracy. We all do.
In MUCH happier news, here's Tom Hardy hanging out with his new BFF Leo Dicaprio at a Lakers game yesterday. Aww!
