Joy to the world

It makes me glad to see SPN mentioned today in the New York Times (It's slightly spoilery.) Even if it's short and a little mysterious (as in, I'm not sure they think the show is weird or not).
But they say: 'How many mainstream network shows can boast a story line like that?' Hee! There's no show like SPN. I read another review of the dvds today, where the show was referred to as a 'teen horror show' with the 'teen monster hunters' Sam & Dean. WTF? It was a LONG time ago either of them were teenagers. Or are people teenagers until they're forty, these days? It HAS been known to happen in certain shows where the actors are just a little bit too old for their part...

It's depressing, sometimes, to watch the microcosmos that is fandom and see how badly people behave. And sometimes I see the trouble people make, and think: it's really no wonder humans are so often at war with each other. I will never, ever understand why loving something, for some automatically means hating something else. Or hating everyone who don't agree. I just don't get how you can watch SPN and hate Sam or Dean. Or how you can be a big fan of the show and hate Eric Kripke. But my point is: spend your time and energy on what you love! It's so much more rewarding. Be nice to people! I've always found that being positive and friendly, will give the same back. I just want to shout to people: WHY CAN'T WE JUST GET ALONG?! *g*

As usual, though, my friendslist is a haven of smart, friendly people. It's just when I venture out a bit, that I notice the wank. It's quite sad. But yay! More SPN today/tomorrow! I can't believe that I'm still this excited about a show in its fifth year. It doesn't happen often. If the show continues beyond that, I hope fans don't start killing each other, or start harrassing the Js for real and they become recluses who we never see in public again, poor things (except for a marriage photo, turning up in an obscure paper, of course).
