Oh, nice! I just rewatched the episode - I can't believe I missed the "John" part in the first viewing. It feels like such a long time since I was excited about SGA.
This episode did it for me, really. It had some problems, but I guess I didn't have any real expectations, I just wanted my guys back and to feel the love. Great John and Rodney here, with some good Zelenka. The other characters? *shrugs*
When Rodney is first pitching the nanite idea to John - he says it over the radio. Rodney's at the computer, Keller behind him, and John's in the space suit - the camera is actually on John when Rodney says it. =)
Lovely caps, Lotta, good choices! And look! John's worried again! Or is he angry? Confused? Drunk? LOL! Well, in this particular cap I can believe John is thinking I look pretty! Do I look pretty if I pose like this? Rodney better think I look pretty.
There have been loads of looks - so many - I feel almost overdosed from all the McShep moments, ;-)!
You hit the only thing that kind of (but he's so pretty I don't really mind) bothered me (only he's so pretty, I finally said oh well *G*) about this ep and that was Joe's lack of range. Now, I've watched, thanks to you for the most part!, nearly everything the dear man has ever done, so I KNOW he has a far greater range of expressions than this. Usually, The Flan has a facility for conveying a lot with just a little facial movement, which isn't easy (Liam Neeson has this talent, too, and Ewan McGregor)but anyway, watching it again, it made me wonder what the director was telling him to do. It almost felt like the character wanted to react one way, and the director was saying "no, no, do it like this," or something.
Hey, he's so pretty, and there were almost too many McShep moments to count - I was practically levitating off my recliner chair by the end of the episode!
Yeah, Joe has quite a subtly expressive face, normally. But here he just seemed to be twitching his mouth strangely, in the scenes where he was supposed to be feeling something. Maybe it IS Martin Wood's fault! But maybe he's not supposed to be emotional about anything, but just extremely focused on his task. Which make me even happier that he so extaticly bounced over to see Rodney in the PJ, for no good reason other than to see Rodney. So there is emotion, for certain people. *g*
And yes, the "John" part completely caught me by surprise -- it was as if...Rodney used his first name to get him to realize the dire circumstances (and agree to reactivating the nanites)! I may even have seen a fic like that! ;)

The McShep overdose is one of the best ways to go, though, isn't it?

I LOVE Joe, but sometimes, he seems to get trapped in one facial expression and can't change it.
And dude, if you get dragged back into SGA it IS because you like it! So there. *g*
