Yesterday, I saw Morrissey live again! It was quite lovely, as always. One thing that makes Morrissey such a good artist - among many things, is the fact that he has one of the best voices in the business. Seriously. It's unique and it's beautiful. Moreover, he ALWAYS sound fantastic live. However, this show was not top notch, mainly because the audience was a little lackluster. My theory is that there were simply too many guys there, concentrating on looking cool, rather than having fun. The 99 % girls-kind of audiences at those fabulous JC-shows were much more fun from this perspective (if more annoying from others...). JC-girls do NOT care about being cool. It's very refreshing. *g*
However, another reason is probably that the new album came out this weekend and so very few had had time to listen in. But then, we got How Soon Is Now?, Girlfriend In A Coma and Trouble Loves Me, so I'm pretty damn good.
The new album is pretty good, actually. And it's very enlightening from a Morrissey-canon (as someone so brilliantly referred to it. Because really, Morrissey really should be fodder for more fanfiction, particularly now that he's apparently no longer celibate *g*) perspective. You see, a whole bunch of the songs are actually about having sex! Only in a very Moz-esque fashion, of course. And there is, of course, a song called Life Is A Pigsty (which is brilliant, btw). It wouldn't be Moz without a little dystopia, now would it? But listen to this song, it's the gayest song ever (well, you know, from a Moz-perspective it is, very, very gay). And it's beautiful too, with strings by none other than Ennio Morricone. And lord, I want to know who he's sleeping with! Who seduced him?! Some pretty Italian, I imagine. Or maybe his new, pretty, mexican guitarist? Hmm.

A while I'm at it, have his new single too. It's one of those classic Morrissey-sing-a-long tunes. It totally grows on you. And the lyrics are also classic Morrissey: As I Live And Breathe, You Have Killed Me, You Have Killed Me. Yes, I Walk Around, Somehow, But You Have Killed Me, You Have Killed Me.
Morrissey - You Have Killed Me He's my favourite weirdo. As long as he doesn't actually murder anyone, I can live with (most of) his eccentricities.
