I've decided to try posting more, if only for my own benefit. I have a feeling that down the road I will be grateful to read about some of the details of my life that would probably have been lost otherwise.
I'm not working at Kid's First anymore. I was getting sick every few weeks which was interfering with my other jobs and was basically not how I wanted to spend my life. The boss ladies handled the news pretty well. I shouldn't be surprised because unlike one of my co-workers, I gave them advance notice.
I'm sad to say that this daylight savings phenomenon has left my sleep schedule in ruins. I have never had to deal with daylight savings before (Arizonans shun the idea of controlling time) and am a little amused at how badly I'm handling it. A co-worker at the library suggested taking a benedryl before bed, and I think that tonight I will gladly follow her advice. I'm tired of staying up til 4:00 in the morning and then waking up feeling like I've been chewing on shoes all night.
In between work and a super-long nap I got some laundry done. This is normally not a task that is worth writing about but the fact that the washer is on our back porch makes things more interesting. Steph found the laundry machines on craigslist and had them delivered but chickened out and didn't ask that they be taken down to the basement - even though the guys delivering them OFFERED to do it! Later, with the help of our visiting friend Evan, we got the dryer downstairs but the washer was a lot heavier and we had visions of someone being crushed underneath it. We decided to leave it on the porch.
We can only run the cold wash, which is fine because it saves energy. The thing that always makes me laugh is that we haven't yet bought a bucket for the dirty water. We've been using our recycling bin, emptying it of water just in time to put the recyclables back in so that they can be picked up by waste management. I like to pretend that I'm Master of the Universe every time I create a tiny flood in my back yard. The only downside is that every once in awhile a spider will fall out of the lid. I'm worried that one day I'll put on a shirt and discover that a crunched up spider is lodged in the arm pit or something.
Well, I think I'm going to take a benadryl now. Goodnight!
