Madhubani painting, one done and progress on the second...
The first painting with the fish is complete! I colored it in with acrylic paints and finished up with the hatching in the border today. The second painting with the double border now has a preliminary sketch in it, of a sun god and a tree. It needs to be finished, then outlined, then painted. It's a bit daunting as it's so much larger than the first painting - but I'm optimistic I will get it done.
The fish painting is my first painting ever- I had a few mishaps with the acrylics, but I think it came out pretty well just the same. Not bad for a first effort, and I enjoyed it, so I would definitely try another painting class in the future.

Sun god and tree. The sun god is supposed to have a manly mustache- it's mythology, I didn't stache the sun for no reason I swear ;)
Close up of the sun. It's his face in the center, then rays, then plant leaves, then an outer layer of lotus petals. It'll hopefully be clearer when done.
