Murder Most Fowl
I killed a bird today.
I tried to stop in time, but it was thud, thump under the tire. The kids were in the car with me, and Steve commented "Whoa, you can see the blood spurting out- sick!" as we drove off. I feel so bad for the poor bird. This is the second animal to meet death under my wheels - first was a squirrel a couple of years ago who was chasing one of his buddies across the road and didn't see the car coming. I always try to break for animals, and usually I make it in time - I guess considering all the critters we have around here, two in twenty years or so of driving isn't all that bad. Still, poor bird!
