Apparently, according to unemployment, it's much preferable to do nothing rather than to go back to school. Because Aus is going back to school, when he filed for unemployment last week (they make you file weekly to claim your benefits) they flagged it as having to be reviewed, because circumstances changed. They said that if he didn't hear back from them within a week, he should contact them. Well, a week went by. We sent the contact thing. Called. The person he needs to talk to won't be back in the office until September 11, but if he wants to try and wrangle it out of someone else, he can call on Tuesday (labor day means no one in the office until then).
Of course, on September fourth, Wal-Mart gets to try and screw him out of previously paid unemployment again. Even though the last time they did this, they didn't bother to show up at the hearing- because they're a big company, that's perfectly allowable (if the individual doesn't show up though, then the company automatically wins) and they got to refile. So who knows what'll happen with that?
Then Aus got a letter in the mail today saying that his unemployment claim will be reviewed, because he 'may be going to state approved job training' (Gee, do you think? Like he told them oh, about a week ago?). Bear in mind that the payment for this training COMES from a state agency, the Department of Vocational Rehab. So when are they going to review it? Why, September 19th, of course. Why not leave us without benefits for another two weeks?
Never mind that we're out of money, and scraping change together to get gas at this point. That we have not a cent left in the bank. Let's just screw around with the claim for three weeks total, because circumstances changed and Aus is going back to school through a state mandated program. Oh noes. This is definitely something that must take three weeks to check out - except, unless, if they like.. picked up a phone and called the agency in question? Or looked it up in a computer? Then it'd take about ten minutes tops.
Thank you government, for once again proving why you are a model of inefficiency, and out to screw the poor people out of what little resources they actually have.
Anyone know a quick way to make some money out of nothing?
