臭味について
Here's one I prepared earlier. Last Tuesday afternoon we had to stand up and talk about something that interested us, and then field questions from our classmates and the teacher. I wasn't very spontaneous, and scribbled a speech down in my notebook. This is what I wrote, with some very minor corrections, and a translation. I'm pleased to say that writing this took me about 10 minutes.
私の趣味は多いですが、ほとんどについて日本語で話せません。ですから、サイリングについて話しましょう。 I have many interests, but am unable to talk about most of them in Japanese. So I'll talk about sailing. 子ども頃家族とイギルスの北の池がたくさんある所へ夏休みに行って、初めてサイリングをしました。家族はそれはとても楽しかったと思ったので、家族の趣味になりました。その頃、ロンドンの南の方の町に住んでいたので、海は少し遠いですから、サイリングが続けるのが少し難しかったです。でも、１１歳になって、家族は「Southampton」の辺へ引っ越しました。その町は湯名な港で、世界のサイリングの中心なので、サイリングがよくしました。 In my childhood I went with the family to a place in the north of England with many lakes, and there we went sailing for the first time. The family thought that this was very enjoyable and so it became the family hobby. At that time, we lived in a town to the south of London, quite far from the sea, and it was difficult to continue sailing. But, when I reached age 11, the family moved close to Southampton. That town is a famous port, and a world centre for sailing, and so we often went sailing. そのときから今までサイリングをよくしました。ETPを入る前に世界をヨットで回る予定がありましたが、それはETPほどよくない機械と思いました。ですから、ここにいます。 Since then, until now, I have sailed a lot. Before entering the ETP programme I had plans to go around the world in a yacht, but that was not as good an opportunity as ETP, so here I am.
