Movie Night

So we went to see The Last Airbender yesterday (thank you Kat) and I have to say I'm impressed, with the exception of some of the acting. A couple actors recited lines rather than acting them, which is a bit obnoxious. And Sokka's character was too stiff, too stern. But cute. The special effects were awesome enough I could have watched the whole movie on mute, so I think it was worth my money (even though it wasn't my money). And I loved Iroh. Like, a lot. I'd say he's my newest fan crush. I put him in with my mostly platonic older gentleman harem, with Gibbs and Auron. I think the accent clinched it for me.

Of course, since I've seen maybe two episodes of the TV series, I didn't have any expectations for the movie to live up to so I couldn't be too disappointed in anything. I'm glad of that, I really am. That way I can look forward to the sequel. And I do. I'm content to just enjoy and hope fan whining doesn't spoil it for me like it does so many other things.

In other news, I finished the puzzle I've been working on and am peeved most grievously. Because it's missing a piece. One tiny shape that invalidates the whole thing. I could frame it and hang it on my wall if it weren't for that one, tiny, painted piece of cardboard. Grrrr.
