Saturday Morning walk

Feb 07, 2009 13:22

After nineteen years of living here I took advantage of the thaw and finally went to Union Cemetery. It's rather modern, and I could not find the old part. Did not look very hard though. Maybe the older part is on the east side of Olentangy River Road?

So who is there?

The wreath on the right says "In Woody We Trust."

Here's some stuff people put on the top of his gravestone.

Another OSU football legend is buried here.

Then there was this set up.

I went into the chapel. Dave Thomas of Wendy's fame is interred there. A lot of people keep their ashes in there, in various forms of urn.

There are also crypts outside the chapels. I'm not sure why this one is kept open. Just so you can see how roomy it is?

It's a rather loud place since it's right by 315 and Olentangy River Road, and not as natural as Greenlawn but I'm going to come back here, and not in an urn.
