Nothing like the great taste of crow

Nope, I did not give the Blue Jackets a chance last night. With seven starters injured (including Rick Nash) and a makeshift lineup, it would have been a massive task to go toe to toe even against the Capitals on the road. The Caps were 18-1-1 at home going into last night's game.

Emma made a nice dinner. I lit some candles, we drank some Bordeaux, listened to some music, watched the Saddest Music in the World.

When the movie ended I put on the game. A commercial was on. She asked me what I thought the score was. I said 3-0 Washington.

The third period was starting and it was 2-0 Blue Jackets.

So we watched the third period and were amazed at the defensive effort. Stave Mason was questionable with muscle spasms before the game but he played and shut the Caps down for the second time this season. Ovechkin has at eighteen shots on him and has not scored yet. Then Boll got sucker punched by Brashear and he ended up scoring a power play goal. That's how hurt this team is, Boll is playing on the power play unit. That's how much this team has changed, Boll scored on the power play.

So their six game road trip ends and when it started I said they needed eight out of twelve points to remain in the playoff hunt. Which is exactly what they did.

Typically, the Blue Jackets do not do well playing back to back nights. Big game at home against the Wild tonight.

The Ohio State hockey team has won nine games in a row, longest current winning streak in college hockey.

Today, a busy day is planned. We're waiting for the white death to fall from the sky. We're still going to Zen Cha, Jeni's, the Wex. Been a good couple of days. I've been sick, but now am feeling the best I've felt this year.

Whew, so what happens next?

ohio state hockey, speccy girlfriend, guy maddin, film 2009, hockey, good things, blue jackets, steve mason is better than you
