A Good Workout Gets My Mind Going...
I was just having a conversation with a friend of mine and I feel that I have to post this somewhere. I swear that if George W. Bush wins our upcoming elections I will move out of this country. This is not a joke, not a threat (like that many people would care), but a promise. I furthermore state that if you vote for Nader and feel the same way you have no right to leave this country. I fuck up on a regular basis, but when shit hits the fan I don't hide from it. Same principle goes for all you future Nader voters. It's as if you people don't understand the meaning of imminent threat. If a mack truck is bearing down on you at a hundred miles an hour on a slick road you don't hope for the 3% (Nader's predicted nationwide won votes) chance that it will brake and not hit you, you jump out of the way into the rough gravelly street and pray that the truck doesn't veer your way.
Let's make some things clear. Bush and most of the people in his presidency are some of the richest people to ever be in their positions and amazingly enough during his presidency there have been tax breaks for the rich and lucrative contracts given out to some of the corporations that Bush and his people used to be tied to until they had temporarily "break" off their relations with these corporations. This is plastered all over the news and still his approval rating is above 50%. He went into a war against the wishes of the U.N. (an organization that we helped found) and most of our long-term allies and still his approval rating is above 50%. His reason for going into said war was to destroy weapons of mass destruction that he had absolute proof that were there. We have had almost absolute control of Iraq for over a year now and we have to yet to find a single hint of a chemical or nuclear weapon so the man is a fuckig liar and still his approval rating is above 50%. The man is against gay marriage and wants to take away women's right to choose and still his approval rating is above 50%. This week he has two ongoing scandals (the torture of Iraqi prisoners and Cheney's snafu with the Supreme Court) and his current job approval rating is still holding at fucking 52%. We are at the start of a depression (not entirely his fault) and he wants another 35 billion dollars for the "War on Terrorism" and Iraq's reconstruction (which corporations friendly to him and his presidency are overseeing) which he's probably going to get and STILL HIS FUCKING APPROVAL IS ABOVE 50%!!! The man was voted in last election as a confirmed ex-cokehead and drunk driver with a lower rating then he currently has and you people still think you have the luxury of a third party vote? I'm all for putting forward special interests and voting with a clear conscience but for fucks sake let's not put our collective necks on the chopping block.
