More not-so-delicious updates
Delicious has not magically fixed...anything that I object to overnight. (Seriously, not one thing. Even my most shallow objection of WHY THE FUCK ARE MY COMMENTS IN ITALICS? DO NOT WANT. Not even that one has been fixed. Or at least given the option of NOT BEING ITALICIZED. I have a lot of feelings about formatting, okay?) WAIT, NO. THEY ALLOWED FOR MORE LINKS ON ONE PAGE. you still can't pick how many, but at least we're not stuck at ten anymore. I feel like the search function has minorly improved? But it's still...not ideal. And going through tags, you still can only see one page. It's more than ten links on that page now, but still. One. Page.
And now I have this new problem where attempting to save a new link gets me the confirmation that the link saved and then.... no link showing up in my saves. It's a lovely little bug. I think I'm going to call it "Shitface McGee". Shitface McGee is currently making it so I can't save anything at all, that I am aware of. Which is so kind of dear Shitface McGee, to eliminate the sole purpose of a bookmarking site. Really. It's inspired. ETA Shitface McGee apparently stands for "will show up two hours after save was confirmed", which is better than "saved. NOT" but still. Further experimentation will take place.
So. They have made some vague promises and I am not quiiiiiiiiite to the point of saying "fuck this noise" and disappearing. (which, fyi, even if I stop using delicious as my primary bookmarking site, I will not be deleting my account. I repeat, NOT deleting my account. So you can still access my bookmarks)
But for those of you who are to that point or for those of you who just like knowing what's going on all the time ever, here's a little roundup:
♥ Pinboard actually really wants to hear from fandom people. There's a doc of brainstorming future feature incorporation with the site manger actually reading and commenting on it. Seriously. It's already 19 pages long and there will probably be an lj poll in the future to decide the priority level of the suggestions and weed out wants versus needs.
♥ here's the delicious blog if you want to watch for more updates or just read what they said last night.
♥ The more exciting/useful thing is that Delicious put up a beta status blog.
Missing Tags/Alpha Tag Sort: We limited visible tags at launch to reduce the risk of a system outage. We did not have an outage, and the system is stable, so we are working now to start exposing full tag lists and associated sorts.
Tag Subscriptions: We have retained all user tag subscription data, and ned to expose this functionality on the site. Part of this functionality available as a saved search, but we need to improve the UI for this, and add /{username}/tag support.
Networks: We have all network data, and will are working on rolling this out with our user feeds in the near future.
Tag Bundles: We have retained all tag bundle data, and are working to expose this for users.
So, that could be something.
♥ If that doesn't pan out and you want to switch, head over to the Great Delicious Migration spreadsheet and fill in your usernames for all the sites. Which is kind of just useful in general, honestly. But there's only 220ish people on it right now. I KNOW THERE ARE MORE OF YOU. Spread the word! We won't bite.

ETA: THEY FIXED TAGS WITH SLASHES IN THEM. NO MORE 404 ERRORS!
ETA AGAIN: Also also, they've fixed it so exports actually go in order of when they were saved. So, I've deleted and re-imported my bookmarks to pinboard. Which seriously took less than four minutes to do. And i have 1200+ bookmarks, so that is amazing to me.
