Previously in my journal, I enjoyed the magical journey to Narnia via C.S. Lewis's "The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe". The movie was fun. I really enjoyed it.
Upon second viewing, I still enjoyed it. But my viewing companion
katieledge made two additional observations that should be noted.
1. Separated at birth:
Prince William of England...
...and King Peter The Magnificent of Narnia?
You be the judge.
2. "Is it wrong that I find Mr. Tumnus strangely attractive?" she asked as we left the theater.
Apparently, if you use LiveJournal's search engine on the words "Tumnus hot faun", you find that, no, it is not only not wrong, it is entirely too popular.
metaquotes directs us to
ignipes, who
sums it up quite well here saying "Though I've read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe many times, I have always overlooked a key part of Mr. Tumnus's description. Namely, the totally smokin' adorably hot part of the description. Yow, baby."
3. More LOTR parallels: Peter draws Anduril his magic sword, etched with runes that might as well have been written by Elrond himself. Unsubtle.
4. This movie is still better than King Kong, I think. Not that I didn't like Kong. I did. It was very well done. But somehow I was more... engrossed in Narnia.
5. Beavers are funny. There really is no getting around that.
