I was @Bashundhara City Mall with the wife, when in a TV of one of the shops I saw glimpse of what it look like a brave effort from South Africa in reply of the monstrous record breaking total of 434 by Aus earlier that day.
The shopkeepers were quite excited, it showed Gibbs just completed his 50 from 46 deliveries - and I just told myself, well this is going to end soon anyway so why take any notice.
I received an SMS from Rony, after few minutes, saying "Hey man, watching the match? If not, you will be surprised!" Remembering SA's poor performance for pulling a game at the end, and the world record breaking target of 434, I typed reply "If the world turns upside down today, I will not believe SA will win this match."
So I went on with my shopping... bought stuffs... did window shopping... stood in the line for Volvo... and so on.
Only when I was very close to my stoppage, I overheard someone from the back of the bus saying, "bhai obishwasho... 32 over-e 300 korse reply-e, matro 4 wickets gese!"
I freaked out.
This is usually taken as a rull of thumb in ODI cricket that whatever you make in 30 over time, it gets doubled when you reach 50 - unless some serious damage is done. If true, SA will reach ... FUCKING 600 RUNS!!!
I rushed towards the TV, returning home, and witnessed the impossible, the unbelievable, and the amazing tale of bravery. Reports of this match is all around the globe, will be showed & told again and again in many years to come, so I better not bother saying that again. But I have only one thing to say - only humanly so possible.
Game of all impossibility, cricket proved it again. And setting the limits, human broke it again.
- The passionate cricket fan.
