Why Fictional Characters Rock: Part Un

Oct 22, 2009 14:44

In an effort to keep me writing, I introduce a new series entitled Why Fictional Characters Rock. Wherein I list the reasons a certain fictional character makes me sit back and go: "Hm. You rock my fucking face off!"

This week's entry: Jackie Tyler of Doctor Who

Jacqueline Andrea Suzette Tyler (nee Prentice)
Born February 1st 1967
Married to Peter Alan Tyler (b. Sept 15th 1954, d. Nov 7 1987)
Married to Peter Alan Tyler (alternate universe)

Why she is awesome:
- Was married at 19, a mother at 20, and a widow before 21. (Rusty really is a bitch!)
- Raises a daughter on her own for 18 years
- Hits on the Doctor before Rose does
- Slaps the Doctor
- Runs a search and rescue for her missing daughter for a full year
- Is abandoned by daughter, and then loses only other companion, Mickey.
- Continues being awesome in singleness
- For some reason has access to 18 wheelers
- Has no qualms about remarrying a clone of her original husband
- Apparently is a foxy momma - preggers again before 41
- Carries a big gun
- Forces her hubby, the head of a international alien catching organization to do "nursery run" while she saves the world
- Cannot pilot TARDIS. Not even try.
