So even though I haven't been entirely consistent with the writing, when I get down to it, I get down to it, and things are actually going fairly well.

Should I have said that? Is it possible that the sound I am hearing is the distant beat of the drums of doom? Have I just TOTALLY JINXED MYSELF?!

But anywho, what's been working out for me is that I am rewriting parts but have also been able to salvage and weave in some of the stuff that I really liked from the earlier draft. So it's write a little, weave a little, and I think it's coming together well. YAY!
But there is another burning issue I have. Somewhere here on LJ, someone was talking about zombies, and zombie animals. And don't ask me why, because *whispers* I am not entirely a fan of teh zombies, however, I have been thinking about them a lot lately. And I have decided that far FAR scarier than human zombies is the prospect of chimpanzee zombies. Because, you know, the smarts don't count so mmuch with zombies, but HOLY, those chimps are SUPER STRONG.
Chimp zombies. *shudders* Just sayin'.
