2:30 pm…Roller coaster ride at the amusement park…

That guy Mark was laughing at Aline’s discomfort after their ride on the coaster.

“I didn’t know you were that scared to ride a roller coaster.” He said.

“Shut up. That’s why I told you I didn’t want to get on it.” She replied and hit him on the chest, which only made him laugh harder.

There is definitely something going on between those two, considering how well they get along with each other. Hmph. Did they meet while I was overseas? How long have they been together? Why-.

“What are you doing Min?”

“Aaah!”I shouted in surprise as I turned to face the person who spoke.

I let out a deep breath when I saw that it was Yoochun-hyung.

“Don’t startle me like that hyung.”

He laughed. “So, what are you doing?”

“Umm.” I began. But before I could finish, hyung had already spotted Aline with ‘that guy’.

He had a huge grin on his face.

“Eh…You were following Lin-chan and Mark?” He chuckled.

I frowned at him. “So?”

“Jealous are we?”

“I’m her boyfriend, what do you expect?”

“Then why is ‘the boyfriend’ hiding behind the bushes following ‘the girlfriend’ with another guy? You should be out there with her.”

“She seems to be having a lot of fun with him.”

“So? Doesn’t she have fun with you?”

“Of course she does.” I replied indignantly.

“Oh, they’re moving.” Hyung said. “Can I tag along with you Mr. Boyfriend turned stalker?” He teased.

“Shut up.”

For the rest of the afternoon Hyung and I followed them. About an hour after they left the roller coaster ride, they met up with her cousins and all of them went on rides together. She seems to be having the time of her life with Mark.

’I wishI bought along my camera.’ Yoochun thought as he watched every expression that went through Changmin’s face.

‘This is kind of hilarious, he just went on and sulked like a kid during lunchand doesn’t know that Mark is actually Lin-chan’s cousin.’

Aline and company were having dinner in a pizza joint in the park. Hyung and I were seated in a booth next to theirs. It was a good thing that the booths in the place had really high scree-like dividers so they can’t really see us.

“I heard there’s going to be fireworks tonight.” One of her cousins said.

“Uhuh, I think it’s going to be simply awesome.” Another cousin commented.

Everybody else agreed.

“I heard someone say that if you kiss the one you love as the fireworks are going on, a miracle will occur for both of you.” Mark said.

“Do you think that’s true?” Aline asked.

“I’m not sure. But it’s worth a try right?”

“Yup.”

‘Are they going to try it?’ I thought. ‘Yada Yada Yada, she’s my girlfriend. She can’t just go kissing other guys.’

***

Sigh. ‘So I was right. He was jealous over Mark. No one can blame him though. Mark and I don’t resemble each other much, and my cousin is one gorgeous piece of flesh.’ I thought.

‘It’s a good thing Yoochun-senpai is with him. Hmmm. I wonder what would be a good time to tell him the truth?’ I thought I chewed on my pizza.

***

“Argh. I can’t do this.” I said.

“Can’t do what?” Hyung asked.

“I can’t continue following them. What if they really kiss? I don’t think I can stand the sight.”

“Okay, so why don’t we go to another location to watch the fireworks. It’d be a waste to not watch.”

“Hyung.”

“Hmm?”

“You seem to be taking this situation so calmly.”

“Uhuh. So, shall we?”

Sigh. “Okay.”

So, we went to this huge fountain in the middle of the park. There were couples there. I felt kind of awkward but hyung didn’t seem to mind, he was actually humming something to himself.

Sigh. I looked up at the sky, watching the moon that was a perfect crescent tonight.

“It would have been nice if I could share this sight with her.” I said to myself.

“Share what with whom?”

I turned to the person who spoke.

“Al.” She smiled and moved to stand beside me.

“The moon’s beautiful tonight, neh?”

“A-ah. What are you doing here Al? Shouldn’t you be with Mark?”

“You want me to kiss him during the fireworks?” She asked, her face clean of any expression.

“A-aniyo. It’s not that…its…its…just…you know…”

“Wakatta, wakatta. (sigh). And to think, I made an effort to come all the way here. Bye.” She said, then started walking away.

“Uh…” Sigh.

“Shouldn’t you go after her?” Hyung suddenly asked from behind me.

I looked at her retreating back. Changmin pabo! I mentally kicked myself. Why did I say that? Shouldn’t I have been happy that she came to find me because she wanted to watch the fireworks with me?

I went after her.

“Al wait.” I said, just as I caught her hand.

She turned to me, looked at our hands and then straight into my eyes. When I stayed silent, she raised an eyebrow at me.

I was still trying to think of what to say to her when an explosion pulled me out of my thoughts. I looked up at the sky, which was now showered with different colors. The fireworks had already begun. It was then that I knew what I had to do.

I looked back at her. She was still staring at me, waiting. I pulled her to me, wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her.

She stiffened for a moment, probably out of surprise, then slowly relaxed and accepted my kiss. After about two minutes, I felt her push at me. I ignored it and instead held her tighter and deepened the kiss. This time she pushed even harder and then pinched me hard when I still ignored it.

“Ouch. What was that for?” I said, finally breaking the kiss.

“Bakka. We’re going to miss the fireworks if you didn’t stop.” She said, and then looked up to the sky.

Right. I looked up as well. At least that’s the reason she wanted to stop, and I was happy that she didn’t step out of my embrace while watching.

When the fireworks ended, we looked at each other. She pulled my head down toward her and gave me a quick kiss before she broke out of my embrace.

“Come on.” She said, holding my hand and entwining our fingers.

“You too senpai.” She called to Yoochun-hyung as she pulled me in the direction of her cousins and ‘him’.

When we arrived to where her cousins were, I was introduced to each of them.

“Mark, why don’t you introduce yourself completely this time?” Aline asked him.

“Hey, I’m Mark, the eldest son of the eldest brother of Aline’s mom.” Mark said.

My mouth gaped open in surprise as his words sunk into my jealous-fogged brain, and I just stared.

“Hello.” Aline said, waving her hand in front of me.

I shook my head to get out of my dazed state.

“So basically you guys are…you guys are…” I started to say.

“Yup, she’s my cousin. Right cuz?!” Mark said.

“Uhuh.” Aline replied.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked her.

“You wouldn’t have believed me at the time. Remember earlier when I went after you in the kitchen?” She continued when I nodded. “Well, I was going to get to so I could introduce you to them. But, you were already sulking like a kid, positive that your conclusions were right, and you wouldn’t even tell me what was wrong. I got kind of pissed at that point, so I left you alone and tested my theory that you were jealous of Mark. And I was right.”

“What makes you so sure that you’re right?”

“The fact that you followed u the entire afternoon.” Mark stated.

Aline nodded in agreement and said, “Yoochun-senpai is our witness.”

“Eh?!” I said out loud. I turned to Yoochun-hyung, who was currently laughing his pants off.

“You should have seen your face.” He said between laughs. “It was priceless.”

“You’re so mean hyung. You should be on my side.”

“Well, may I remind you that Lin-chan is my bestfriend and she asked for my help first.”

“Anyway, we that cleared, why we all go to Oasis. I hear they’ve got the best buffet.” Michael said. So, off we went.

April 1, 2010…at the airport…

“Bye Mom, Dad, Angel.” I said to my family as I hugged each of them.

Today I’m flying to London, where the Security and Detective agency I was accepted is located. I’ll be flying with Changmin since it’s the end of the leave he had filed when he came back for my graduation.

“Take care and always be careful, okay?” My father said.

“Of course.”

“Call us when you’ve settled down there.” My mother said.

“Sure mom.”

“Don’t forget to send me gifts.” My sister said.

“Oi oi. Is that the only thing in your mind now that I’m about to leave?”

She giggled. “Iiei. I’ll miss you ach.”

We hugged each other and then Changmin and I headed for the terminal to wait for our flight to be called.
