Gimme some of that old time black and white

Dec 15, 2010 16:45

I finally got around to scanning a few things and am putting up some of my real media black and white work. Go here to see some of the latest pen and ink fish from work. I've also been keeping a sketchbook with me on the commute to work for those times when I forget my book. The sketchbook's from Target and has really cheap rough pages so I'm not as precious with the drawings. It also means, however, that the paper tends to catch the pen and makes for stuttery lines that aren't as clean as I'd like, especially since I tend to sketch on the train with the sketchbook held vertically. Here are a few of the sketches from my commute.

Hand study.

Quick sketch of someone at the rail platform.

Hand study of someone carrying a pile of papers.

A labeled image so I don't forget what the mess of lines means later.

One of the earlier people studies where I was brave enough to sketch her because she was mostly asleep.

Someone intent on his iPhone.

Another annotated sketch.

A woman reading a mass market paperback.

A man watching a movie on his iPod/iPhone.

A woman with interesting hair.

One of the longer sketches. She had a beauty that I wasn't quite able to capture.
