I woke up at 11am exhausted because my body has decided it's finally going to get around to fighting this cold I've had. Ian had made a full English breakfast, something he'd learned about years ago when visiting his aunt: hash browns, egg, mushrooms, English baked beans, tea, bread and jam, and sausage (we usually do veggie sausages, but none today).
Then he told me he wasn't going to Korea, and part of the reason, along with not wanting to teach at a private school, learn a very difficult language, and be all alone, he didn't want to be away from me for a whole year.
So we're both moving to Berkeley, I'm going back to school to teach special ed., he'll be teaching English or subbing in Oakland if no English jobs are available, and I won't have to find a new home for my rats. I, uh, sorta panicked for nothing.
He said he might look into it again in another six months.
So this summer I'll be moving back to Oakland and for the first time since I was 19, my whole family will be under one roof for a few months. I can start being actual friends with my sister again. I have about two weeks left in Sacramento.
