2.1.3. “The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not.” - Mark Twain

Agreeing to accompany Leon and Teagan on their shenanigans couldn’t be good for anyone’s health.

“I’m sorry, but no. I’m not going. I refuse to.” Audrey said out loud to Teagan; although, she was staring at her reflection. Leaning against her bathroom counter, she carefully rubbed a tube of red lipstick against her lips. She looked calm, but her nerves were through the roof. Pausing, she set the tube onto the counter with trembling hands and sighed. “I shouldn’t feel this way.” She murmured with a frown.

A small smile on her lips, Teagan entered the bathroom, and draped an arm over Audrey’s shoulder, pulling her into side hug. “You look gorgeous, Audrey.” She started attempting to encourage her friend, “He’ll be glad that you came. He hasn’t seen you in forever, and it’ll be the first time we’ve all actually hung out since Nate’s death. God knows it’s going to be awkward, but just do this for Leon and me, please?” Teagan pleaded, her gentle blond curls framing her face. It was just dinner. A reunion between friends, but why did Audrey feel like it would just end in chaos.

The only reason Audrey agreed in the first place was simply because she didn’t want to disappoint Teagan, but with every minute the uneasy feeling in her gut grew. She didn’t want to see Dallas. Before her mouth could speak the truth, she painfully promised. “Fine, but only for you and Leon.”

“Thank you.” Teagan grinned, leaning into Audrey to place a kiss against the dancer’s cheek. Although Audrey would deny it until her last breath, she missed Dallas, and that was more then enough reason for her not to want to see him. She didn’t trust her heart.

Taking her hand, Teagan lead Audrey back into the living room, where Leon sat awaiting the girls arrival. He raised to his feet, his car keys jingling together in his hand. “Are you two ready?”

Teagan leered at Audrey, before nodding with a smile. “I am”

Audrey’s hate for Teagan continued to grow as she caught the leer, and half-heartedly glared at her friend. “Leon please don’t make me go.” She begged with a smile. Leon chuckled, and took it as a joke, but it really wasn’t.
