184 Child's Play | Lego Bow diy

The moment I saw Taskashi Murakami in a Lego bow tie, I was smitten - not with him, but with his Lego bow tie. A D-I-Y project was definitely in the works, so taking up (above, from left) a 16-pin Lego plate, two 12-pin triangular plates, a 4-pin square plate, two 12-pin regular plates, and lastly an 8-pin brick, I began to build my Lego bow.

Some glue is necessary to fasten the pieces together, so unless you don't plan to use your Lego bricks again, don't embark on this project. (Beware - Reliance on the Lego pins alone is shaky at best; out of curiosity I dropped my Lego bow onto the floor... and the pieces broke apart with a crack.)

The Lego bow need not be resigned to your neck. Other than a bow tie, it can also be a shoe clip (above), a bow belt...

...or even a barrette in your hair.
