26 October 2009- Psychologically, when one is dressed up to the nines, there is an added pressure to present well and behave. Thus, relief was written all over my face when I found out no suits were required for this presentation. Out came my skirt of Cargo Chinos material. So too, did a sheer cotton shirt, and the shabby excuse of a corset which Forever 21 made.
My shoes were wedges from Charles & Keith with a low stack. It is often said, that heels bring women's confidence up a notch. And while this is true, this confidence can also be utterly destroyed if one is not comfortable in what one wears. You see, if I am taller by virtue of my shoes, I have to bend down awkwardly to click the mouse to the next slide. This is why I tend to avoid high heels when I am due for a presentation. (No we are not technology whiz kids, we do not use presentation pointers.)
Against this monochrome outfit, I have injected a little pop of colour in the form of a red rose ring. This is disguised among my doll's bouquet of flowers, in this series of pictures I shot for the ring. The rose is small, dainty, and in my favourite shade of dark red.
With comfort as key for today's outfit, I was a lot more relaxed while presenting my group's case. I still had my jitters though; I hadn't practised as much as I'd have liked to have.
