My tiny lettuce plants have not faired well in all these downpours. I found torn leaves this morning. Happily though the turnips, peppers, peas, onions and tomatoes all seem to be doing well. Still no sign of shoots from the cucumbers.

The onion seeds I planted have started to sprout. They're so cute. So right now in the box garden I have peas, turnips, peppers, lettuce and onions. I can't seem to find my carrot seeds but I know I bought them. I planted my strawberry jar today with 8 strawberry plants. It looked really pretty when I was done, but we'll see how it goes. I have a strawberry pot. I've never used it, but I think tomorrow I'll go get some strawberry plants and plant them in the pot. Strawberries from the store are kind of gross and tasteless, but the strawberries fresh from the garden that I had as a child were kind of miraculously delicious. A couple of weeks ago flamingcarrot built me a box garden and I planted it with peas, onions, turnips, and lettuce. After there is not danger of frost, I will be adding carrots and peppers. Tomatoes will be planted in another location. Well, as of yesterday, we've got little pea shoots and little turnip shoots and little lettuce shoots. I'm so excited.
