Last post of 2008, baby!
Hey, guys! Long time no post! I kind of disappeared for most of December, since I have been so busy at work. I've basically been coming home and crashing, and with the amount of time I've had it's either read my flist or post, so I decided to skip posting for a while. We're finally switching to 12:30-8 next week, so I may be around a little more, since that works better with my body's natural sleep schedule. I have a few posts I've been wanting to make, including some Yuletide recs, but those, at least, will have to wait until after the author reveal since I've basically only gotten into the Bs in the archive. I do have them tagged on my del.icio.us, here, though.
So, 2008 is almost over! Mere hours until 2009. I, for one, am glad to see the end of 2008. There were definitely some good things about this year, but there were also some really bad things, too. I was unemployed for 3/4 of the year, and the only time I got to see my extended family was at my grandmother's funeral. But I do have a job now, and next year is already looking to be better. I have to say that overall, the best thing about this year for me was fandom and you guys. You really kept me sane when things were at their suckiest point this year, so thank you. It was really nice to meet so many of you, and to get pushed around by annoying teenies in various pits with you. Can't wait to do it again next year!
I'm not going to make any resolutions or anything for next year, since I am crap at keeping them. Even the goals I made last year didn't really pan out, so I'm just going to skip it this time. I did finally manage to get everything mailed that I needed to get mailed, which may not sound like that great a goal, but there was a whole bunch of stuff. So, those of you who left your addresses on my holiday card post, you should be getting something in the mail from me pretty soon. Clearly, instead of Christmas cards, these are now New Year's cards!
I have a couple "random stats of 2008" posts to make, but I am going to leave those until tomorrow, since there are still two more hours left in this year. So, I will leave you all with best wishes for a fantastic 2009. May your new year be better than this one was!
