Been incredibly busy since I came back from NC. The past few days has involved much cleaning and rearranging of my room. Literally, as in moving the furniture all around and stuff. I was up all night and slept until about 5:00PM. I am still busy arranging and cleaning, but I just had to post about the lovely e-mail I received upon waking up.
Subject: Listen To Brand New Music From FIONA APPLE!
And so, my first thought seeing the subject was that it was a scam. I get tons of spam at that account so it could have been, but basically, I have had my hopes up for so long, that the idea of actually getting Extraordinary Machine is just unfathomable. I am still in shock, yo. But when I opened the e-mail, I have to admit that I teared up a bit. I am so excited for this:
FIONA APPLE HAS COMPLETED HER LONG AWAITED NEW ALBUM EXTRAORDINARY MACHINE
Fiona Apple has completed her highly anticipated third album, Extraordinary Machine, which will be released by Epic Records on October 4, 2005. Extraordinary Machine, produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem and 50 Cent) and co-produced by Brian Kehew, contains twelve new tracks.
"Now that my album is finally finished, I am very, very excited to have people hear what we did - I am so proud of it, and all of us who worked on it," says Fiona Apple.
Fiona Apple's new official web site launched today at

Etcetera. "Parting Gift" is great, and the new version of "Oh Sailor" (I guess that's "O' Sailor" now) is totally growing on me. You can actually understand the lyrics in the bridge now! And, yes, the website does look pretty sucky, but the fact that they are holding a contest to win tickets to see Fiona almost forgives the crappy layout. I am so happy she is touring. I will have to see her at least once. The album cover (if that's the final version) is very interesting. No clue as to what it actually is (someone suggested edamame, which has possibilities), but it is a nice change of pace, since Fiona's first two albums were just her on the cover. The colors are nice, too.
So, now back to the organizing. If anyone wants an MP3 version of the above new songs (or the older leaked EM tracks), comment or ping me on AIM. Anything to spread the Fiona love! Now we wait for the new track listing.
