What matters to them, it doesn't change anything.

So, my grand dream of posting something this week was pretty much derailed by the whole Panic thing, which has made me alternately sad, angry, annoyed, and hopeful (witness this amazingness [download!]). Mostly the anger has come from my mother being totally unsupportive, and not understanding why this matters to me so much, and I didn't really feel like ranting all over the Internet, so I comforted myself with many episodes of Star Trek TOS, and finishing my re-watch of the first three Terminator movies (I forgot how freaking awesome T2 is). I have a recap/recs post in the works for TOS season one, which you will probably see next week, since this weekend is going to be filled with laundry and work tomorrow, and then NYC for "Blithe Spirit" (starring Angela Lansbury(!) and Rupert Everett's terrible plastic surgery) and dinner with scribblinlenore. Also, I was an idiot who didn't take any notes while watching episodes, so I will have to find an episode guide of some sort so I can remember which one was which.

I also bought my ticket for the Half-Blood Prince midnight show next week, and after seeing the new trailer, and the clip during Dan Radcliffe's appearance on Letterman last night (track that shit down, Dan was hilarious), I am more excited than ever. This book ties with PoA for my favorite of the series, so I'm a little worried the filmmakers will screw it up (especially since Steve Kloves >:( is back as screenwriter), but the clips made me cautiously optimistic. Whatever happens, I always love a midnight show, so this should be fun. We're also going to see Public Enemies next week, so these two will bring my different movies seen in the theater total up to twenty for the year (not counting the additional four times I saw Star Trek, which makes the total times in the theater this year a whopping 24 after next Wednesday). My goal of 50 new movies in 2009 is actually in my grasp! I'm planning some movie reviews at some point, since I saw some real gems this year (go see Away We Go!), and will probably start reviewing as I see things.

Another awesome thing about today is the leak of Imogen Heap's new single, from her forthcoming album Ellipse (August 25th, baby!). The song is really gorgeous, her voice sounds better than ever, and I've already had it on repeat for a while. I am super-excited for the rest of this album, I can tell you that. Since I am nothing if not generous (:D), download "First Train Home" here!

Hmm...I feel like there was something else I was going to post about, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was. I hate when that happens. Oh, well! *hugs* to those who need them, and I hope you all have a great weekend!
