Last night it was raining, which then switched to freezing rain. When I woke up this morning Fergus was dancing around, wanting to go for a walk.
What a challenge. There is about half a centimeter of ice over everything. I had to put all my weight into opening my front door because the ice had formed a seal around it. Then when I got out, I couldn't put the key in the deadbolt keyhole to lock it. I couldn't find my little bottle of lock deicer anywhere. So I reached in, turned the knob to lock the doorknob and off I went. I really didn't think on that did I?
After an hour or so of slipping and sliding around while Fergus ran and slid all over the place having a grand time, we got home and I tried to get back in the house. Yeah the key wouldn't go in the doorknob keyhole either. Makes sense since they are directly aligned. It was a DUH moment for me.
Fortunately I managed to get in through my backside door, and now I'm trying to figure out how to unfreeze/block my front door kayholes. I've already used most of a bottle of lock deicer on it, and there is no change.
