It was pretty sad. :( I got a sendoff by a couple of the classes (one of them had me run under their upraised arms, which i had to do almost by kneeling - even though they were sixth graders) and that was pretty sweet. One of the classes had everybody shake hands with me and another all lined up and made me sign the pictures that they'd drawn in class. After the classes I found out there was one student I missed in shaking hands so I drew him a (bad) picture of two hands shaking and said "sorry I missed you!"
And in one of the classes, we played "What's the time, Mr. Wolf?" Which is always a huge hit. Basically all the students line up on one side of the room, and I'm on the other. (I'm Mr. Wolf, obviously.) They ask me what time it is, and I say "it's... ____ o'clock" and they have to take that many steps. If I yell "IT'S DINNER TIME" then they have to run back to the other side of the room before I grab them and they become part of the wolfpack. So, I start the game and soon I yell "IT'S DINNER TIME," run after the kids, and then swoop back to grab the stragglers. I make my first capture of the day by grabbing this kid and lifting him up - something that the other classes went wild for.
Yeah, guess which student the teacher had not told me was a special needs student with emotional issues.
He spent the rest of the class either sobbing or screaming at the rest of the class to stay away from me.
...oh well, everyone else had fun!
