sample action post- Why do I enjoy games, you ask? [He chuckles.] What sort of question is that? You would expect a child to enjoy games, wouldn’t you?
[He pauses.] I enjoy games because they are not merely for children. In fact, I think less of my clients who refuse to participate in a game or two. It not only lessens the tension of the meeting, but also proves to me that the individual understands the concepts behind this business. The Funtom Company originally specialized in toys alone, after all, and it would be difficult dealing with a business partner who didn’t approve of such things. Our products would be failures.
And, quite honestly, there are few things more amusing to me than watching a fully grown man sulk because he has lost a simple board game. Honestly. I can judge your maturity level this way, Sir.
There are other reasons, naturally, which I may or may not choose to share.
sample prose post- Silence. Ciel had a love/hate relationship with silence. It allowed him the briefest of rests, a period of peace of mind that he could not find, usually, with the chaos that occurred daily in his mansion. He could get so much more work done when there wasn’t a sound to be heard, and all sorts of distractions of that kind were nonexistent.
But, the dark side of this blissful nothingness was just that; nothingness. And, as a consequence, his mind usually filled in the blanks. Coated the silence with memories, nightmares, racing thoughts. He had a very active mind naturally, but without those bloody distractions, his mind wandered to those things that he preferred to push away. Now, as he sat at his desk, he turned the chair to look out of the window, pondering this.
How ironic. He welcomed the silence for the respite it offered, and yet, he feared it for the thoughts it invited. Even now, as he attempted to focus on the crisp, autumn leaves hanging outside of the window, he saw flames licking an expansive estate, and shuddered.
Ciel sighed, turning back around again, crossing his arms. There wasn’t much to be done about this, but it bothered him all the same. There had to be some kind of happy medium: a middle-ground where he could get some work done, and not be left to his own dark past. Ah. Standing in the middle of the room now was the butler.
So, he would instead be left with his dark present… and darker future.
