Walking and weather

Sep 09, 2013 18:51

I took my each of my dogs for a walk this morning. I haven't walked them or myself in a long time. It was actually more of a drag and sniff. I had to research both of them "If you pull we don't go." I've found in the past if they get a walk every day the sniffing interruptions go down significantly. And as I and my dogs all need to get into better shape I want to make walking a regular and frequent occurrence.

Now that the weather is starting to cool I won't need to go at the crack of dawn before the sun peeks over the mountains and super heats the day. I have hard time being alert before six a.m. Summer has become my least favorite season because of the heat and the necessity of getting up super early to exercise. I wish spring and fall lasted longer in Utah. We go from winter into a false spring for about a week, then back to freezing cold for a while, then two or so weeks of spring temperatures before the summer heat. Summer to winter is the reverse. Spring and fall should last more than a month but it doesn't feel like it here.

I will enjoy the temperate weather while it lasts. And I look forward to the fall leaves changing and making our mountains look like someone dumped a giant box of Fruity Pebbles on them.
