Another year is almost over. I haven't written a journal entry since November. So I thought I'd squeeze one entry in for this year.
I have been released from Cub Scouts. I am greatly relieved. I hope my current mix of anti-anxiety and antidepressant meds won't need any more adjusting.
Our new dog Bella is settling in nicely. She still likes having a toy to play with or bone to chew on but no longer needs to carry one with her every where she goes. Chalain has encouraged her to sleep on the bed. She's good about not sleeping crosswise, but she does prefer sleeping against me instead of him. Noni is slowly warming up to her. BamBam has discovered he can play chase with Bella. He takes off running near her and she'll follow. If she isn't paying attention he'll run up and swat her then run away. We had been discouraging her from chasing the cats until we discovered he was instigating it. We got her Wisdom Panel (genetic parentage) results back a couple of weeks ago. She is not Flat-coat Retreiver. She's half pure bred black lab and half mutt. The mutt is a mix of Alaskan Klee Kai, Chinese Crested, Old English Sheepdog, French Bulldog, and Polish Lowland Sheepdog. She has a couple of bad habits but I thInk they will go away with some time and training.
This year our Christmas was pretty low key. We spent a couple of hours with my parents who live nearby, but mostly we kept to ourselves. We didn't put any decorations up and didn't even bother wrapping the presents. Most of the presents we bought were for both of us. I bought us movies and scarves, Chalain bought us FitBits. I got him the new Terry Pratchett book and he got me a small stereo to play my iPod from. I really enjoyed the no fuss together time.
We will probably be asleep by 11 p.m. tonight. I hope everyone can have a good start to the new year. I'm going to sleep in but not so late that getting up early on Wednesday will be difficult.
Happy New Year!
