Best. Phonebook. Ever.

[For those of you who haven't seen our various moving updates, we're settling in quite nicely here in our new house in Alma. If you somehow managed to miss the links to Steuard's house tour webpage that he and I linked to in various places, let me know.]

The point of this post is remarkably only tangentially related to moving/settling in stuff. The previous owners of the house nicely left a phonebook for us, and I noticed the following listing in the Yellow Pages:

Witches, Vampires, Aliens, Pirates
-- Jenkies (See in white pages)

Amused and curious, I looked up "Jenkies" and kept flipping back and forth in the phonebook to follow the trail of easter eggs:

---- See: Those Meddling Kids in yellow pages

------ Blake, Daphne (See in white pages)
------ Dinkley, Velma (See in white pages)
------ Jones, Freddie (See in white pages)
------ Rogers, Norville 'Shaggy' (See in white pages)
------ Scooby Doo (See in white pages)

The five characters led to the following five links:
-------- See: Karate-Kicking Sleuth in yellow pages
-------- See: Analytical Four-Eyed Brain in yellow pages
-------- See: Ascot Wearing Fashion Icon in yellow pages
-------- See: Canine Loving Scooby Snack Eater in yellow pages
-------- See: Four Legged Cowardly Clue Finder in yellow pages

All of these links led to:
---------- Mystery Inc (See in white pages)
------------ See: Creepy Mystery Solvers in yellow pages
-------------- The Gang (See in white pages)
---------------- See: Scooby Doo, Where Are You? in yellow pages
------------------ Rover Here (See in white pages)
-------------------- See: Monsters, Mummies, Zombies, Ghosts in yellow pages
---------------------- Zoinks (See in white pages)
------------------------ See: Witches, Vampires, Aliens, Pirates in yellow pages

I think that is the most fun I have ever had with a phonebook (not that that is saying much). I can't wait until the next edition comes out in October to see if there is a new set of easter eggs. How strange am I to be excitedly looking forward to the arrival of a new phonebook? :-)
